FAITH, BELIEF AND ENERGY SPIRITUALITY

What is the difference between spirituality, including Energy Spirituality, and religion?

Religion requires structure.  Worship, ritual, belief, and faith are other components.

By contrast, spirituality aims for experience, helping a seeker connect to something greater than personal self at the everyday human level.

Are religion and spirituality mutually exclusive?

Exclusion happens only when a religion defines itself in a way that prohibits spirituality.  For example, consider the one-way exclusion related to astrology for Fundamentalist Christians.  Here, an age-old form of spirituality is expressly prohibited by religion.

Yet this same form of spirituality is perfectly acceptable within the religion of Hinduism.  Many other religions take a neutral attitude, not expressly forbidding interest in astrology.  For all these religions, spirituality is not considered a threat.

Ironically, astrology is central to the Christmas story, where three wise men followed a star to find Jesus.  Were those same wise men Christians today, they might have to conceal their spiritual interests when attending church.

Today, many strong believers in organized religion do have to conceal their interest in spirituality.  So long as they succeed in hiding that interest, they may worship at will.

Of course, no corresponding exclusion forbids those with spiritual interests away from religion.  I have taught Energy Spirituality to fundamentalist Christians, orthodox Jews, Episcopalians, Presbyterians, Catholics, Buddhists, Sikhs, Hindus, Muslims, Quakers, Eckists, Practitioners of Unity, Christian Scientists, Pagans, Unitarians, you name it.

Do you find many spiritual seekers involved in religion?

Yes, highly motivated spiritual seekers often do belong to religion.  Other religious followers seek social contacts or have other motivations having nothing to do with spiritual seeking.

Spiritual seekers may, or may not, follow an organized religion.  Many, instead, follow what I call "disorganized religion."  Spirituality can be a path, where someone grows or rests at will, choosing among beliefs, techniques, teachers, and more.

Does Energy Spirituality show that religious people have better auras than people involved in spirituality? Or vice versa?

My perspective comes from experience with reading thousands of auras from regular photos, as well as in person. (This isn't a special gift, just a matter of skill. I can teach you to do the same, as with my Aura Reading Workshop.)

Thus, I have read auras of people from a vast range of religions.  Clearly, no one path has superiority to any other.  The same goes for people involved in spirituality, meditation, yoga, or even atheism.

How about the auras of fundamentalists versus people in the same religion who are not so deeply involved?

Here I have definitely found a pattern.  Although there are always people in any religion who have enormous spiritual wakefulness, most true believers and missionaries reveal a significant absence of spiritual experience.

Rather than expansion or glorious contact with Source, these third eyes tend to be small and undeveloped. Qualities like fear and arrogance predominate.  (Of course, this can change in seconds.  One of the techniques I have used for years, with consenting clients, is called "Third Eye Opening.")

Thus, the very people with less spiritual experience than others are apt to proclaim their superiority to others.

Ironic, admittedly!  But you will definitely find this when you explore people's auras with Energy Spirituality.

What is the role of faith in spirituality vs. religion?

Energy Spirituality provides a fascinating perspective on faith.  The important distinction isn't between how faith differs in spirituality vs. religion.  What matters is the role of faith in someone's aura.  When you read anyone's auras, you will find that the words like "faith" can be used in conjunction with radically different inner experiences.

Specifically, here is the truth that peeks out through auras:

Some people who greatly value faith… depend on it because they do not, at present, have much direct experience beyond everyday human reality.

Other people who value faith… are using the word to describe a huge, real, and direct experience of connection to spiritual Source.  Aura reading makes the distinction better than words, alone, could.

Energy Spirituality is, therefore, useful for understanding what, really, goes on with innermost experience.  For those who seek to improve upon inner experience, for self-growth or teaching or healing, it is immensely important to make contact with what really is.  Energy Spirituality offers the tools and understandings to do all this: Understand what is, self-growth, teaching and healing.

I am a spiritual seeker. Which resource at this website is the best place to start my exploration of Energy Spirituality?
